That’s the sound I made Friday afternoon around 4:30. The week was finally over and it was quite possibly the most stressful week of my life. It was like the perfect storm has popped up over our building; the new product had to be QCed (quality controlled), several key figures in the company all decided this week was the week to not work and, as you know, the stupid HVAC guys took over the lab. Even though my boss and other important coworkers will be back this upcoming week, I think it’s going to be yet another shitty week and here are the reasons:
- Those damn HVAC guys will still be working in the lab until Wednesday and they’ve decided that they need to work over my desk. So, I don’t have a home, in fact, I’m squatting in somebody else’s office. Boo.
- We still have to QC that new product and there doesn’t appear to be any room to do so. We can’t move the finished products off the benches to shipping because the HVAC guys will be in there replacing that system Wednesday through who the hell knows. I’ve already told the president I would be using his office to QC the new machines and surprisingly, he was OK with that.
- On top of everything being crowded and out of place, the men’s room will be under construction for the next two weeks. This wouldn’t be a bad thing normally but we only have two bathrooms in the building, the men’s room and the ladies’ room. Yes, this means we will be sharing our bathroom with the men and I somehow don’t think it’s going to be like Ally McBeal. Double Boo.
Okay, so three reasons isn’t so bad but I’m sure I’ll come up with more throughout the week. Perhaps the one good thing that will make this week better is the fact that Larissa will be back from Russia. She runs the center lab and when she left I ran the center lab. I’ve never felt so useless in my life but she’s back and I’m convinced she will fix everything. Let’s hope this week goes smoothly.
And oh yeah, GO PATRIOTS!!
Those Colts don’t stand a chance.
